FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWe regularly
add new questions to this page as they arise. However, if your question
has not been covered please do not hesitate to contact us for further
information. Table of Contents (click on question for answer)
How do I book my diving or diving course with you?Simply
send us an email with your holiday dates, your level of diver certification
and the number of dives that you wish to complete - in the case of diving
course we would obviously need to know what course you wish to complete
along with your holiday dates. W Do I need to book in advance or can I just turn up on the day?To help ensure
that we can accommodate your wishes and avoid disappointment we would
prefer that you book your diving in advance. We do appreciate that this
is not always possible and where we can we will always try to help you. Do you also cater for groups or clubs?Yes, indeed
we do. We also offer discounted rates on our diving for groups of four
or more, starting with our six dive package. Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking with you?We do not normally ask for a deposit except in the case of larger group or club bookings where we might need to turn down other enquiries in order to secure your places on the boat. In this case we would require a 10% deposit to confirm the booking. Do you have your own boat?Boats skippered by holders of British RYA licence's (of any level) do not cover this requirement and means that the vessel is being operated illegally - if stopped by the Spanish or Canarian authorities you will be escorted back to port. Please make sure your boat is operated by a suitably qualified Captain. Do we stay out on the boat all day?No
- all the dive sites that we visit are within 20 minutes of Las Galletas
harbour so we normally come back in for lunch at one of the many excellent
cafe/restaurants adjoining the sea front. Here we can relax while we take
our surface interval and watch the world go by - it's your holiday and
we are here to make it as relaxed as possible. Will I require diving insurance?Certified
divers will require their own diving insurance - most holiday insurance
companies now cover divers up to the limits of their qualification, with
a maximum depth limit of 30 metres. You can of course take out a separate
policy with an appropriate insurance company if you wish to dive beyond
30 metres (certification level permiting) . Any diver undertaking one
of our PADI courses will be covered by our Instructors insurance so will
not need a separate policy unless they wish to do additional diving after
they have completed their course. Do you provide free transport to your dive centre?Yes,
we will provide free transport to/from most of the main tourist areas
along the south coast of Tenerife. However, if you are only doing one
dive per day we cannot always guarantee that we will able to return you
to your hotel until we have finished diving in the afternoon - obviously
we will always try to ensure that you get back promptly if we can. How are your diving courses scheduled - do you have set start days?W What is the law regarding minimum age limits for scuba diving in Tenerife? The law in most parts of Spain (Tenerife included) states that nobody under the age of 16 years is allowed to take part in scuba diving activities. Whilst we do not necessarily agree with this law, as a professional dive centre we do comply with it. update....As
of 26th April 2006 the law regarding minimum age limits for diving was
changed so we are now pleased to report that we are able to provide diving
and training courses for children within the minimum age limits laid down
by PADI When is the best time of the year to go diving in Tenerife? Why should I choose Dive Tenerife? This
question is probably best answered by our previous customers. If you follow
